Privacy policy

How we look after your information.

This policy explains what personal data RAMS Charity Foundation collects through this website, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who we are

RAMS Charity Foundation (“RAMS”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data collected through ramscharity.org. You can contact us at Suite H177, Ikota Shopping Complex, VGC, Lagos, by email at info@ramscharity.org or by phone on 0803 805 2669.

2. What we collect

  • Details you give us in forms: your name, email address, phone number, organisation or school, state, and anything you write in your message.
  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address and your consent to receive emails.
  • Donations: the amount and the cause you choose. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (such as Paystack or Flutterwave). We never see or store your full card details.
  • Website use: basic information such as pages visited and the type of device, collected through analytics cookies if you allow them.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and keep a record of it.
  • To arrange sponsorships, partnerships, volunteering and mentoring.
  • To process and acknowledge donations, and meet our legal and accounting duties.
  • To send you news and updates, only if you have asked for them.
  • To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.

We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on each form, and, for donations and records we must keep, on our legal obligations and legitimate interests as a charity.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our work, such as our website host, email and form services, and payment providers, and only as far as they need it. Where a provider stores data outside Nigeria, we make sure suitable safeguards are in place, as the Act requires. We may also share data when the law requires us to.

5. Young people

Our forms are meant for adults: parents, teachers, schools, partners and supporters. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, guardian or teacher to contact us for you. Photos of students at our events are published only with the agreement of their schools, and we will remove a photo on request.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Donation records are kept for as long as the law requires. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, and we will then stop sending them.

7. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
  • ask us to move your data to another organisation; and
  • complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).

To use any of these rights, email info@ramscharity.org. We will reply within the time the law allows.

8. Cookies

The website uses cookies that are needed for it to work. We use analytics cookies only with your permission, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

9. Keeping your data safe

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to the information you send us is limited to the people who need it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
